My name is Jamie Ivey. I came to Provence thirteen years ago to write a series of travel books about rosé. The first book Extremely Pale Rosé won the Gourmand Award book of the year on French Wine and was published globally with British, American, Dutch, Chinese, and Polish editions. Subsequently I was cited in The Spectator  as a causal factor in shifting the drinking habits of millions to the pale rosé so many people now love.

I live in the Luberon village of Lourmarin with my wife and our three daughters, who were all born in Provence. My latest book is the new Moon Guide to Provence.

I speak fluent French and specialize in running amazing small group Provence tours, providing clients with unforgettable experiences. The Best of Provence tour takes in all Provence’s major sights and cities with plenty of wine tastings along the way. The tour has departures nearly every week from April to September (with the exception of mid July to the end of August which I believe are too hot for touring.)  I also offer bespoke private Provence tours and travel planning.

Flexibility

My touring ethos is to offer guests as much flexibility as possible. My groups enjoy a welcome evening meal together, and lunch every day. Thereafter in the evening clients can join the group to dine, or choose to take a break and enjoy a separate restaurant. As well as the welcome evening meal, all lunch time meals with wine (1/2 a bottle per head per meal) are included in the tour price.

When we are out and about exploring Provence, I provide an introduction to cities and villages and introduce the main sights. Clients are then free to choose what interests them. For example in Arles, some will want to concentrate on the Roman heritage, while others will be more interested in Van Gogh. For clients keen to do some walking, it’s easy to adapt the itinerary. For example instead of visiting Aix en Provence, clients can hike the nearby Mont Saint Victoire in the company of a local guide.
